Canvas Stretching Machine |
Canvas Stretching Describes a popular method used to present canvas. Essentially, it involves wrapping a canvas print over a wooden frame or stretcher bar. Depending on if the canvas will have a frame added or if it will be shown "Frameless" will determine where the stapled canvas is attached to the stretcher bar frame and the depth of the stretcher bars. Popular Frameless stretched canvas looks are referred to as Museum Wraps or Gallery Wraps. These looks have the canvas wrapped around the sides and stapled to the back of the stretcher bar frame. It creates a clean, contemporary look. Depending on the size of the image and your desired look, determines the thickness of the frame. We commonly use a 1 1/2" deep stretcher bar. Because all our work is custom, we can offer several depths of stretcher bars. We will be happy to assist you on what would be most appropriate for your particular project. Please note some inkjet canvas is not suited to stretching over a frame as it can be prone to cracking. To the left is the latest addition to our shop, with this machine we can stretch 160 to 200 pieces of canvas art in an 8 hour day. Below are some examples of canvas stretching.
